Vote for Pete!

During her 8 years of disastrous leadership, Gov. Granholm has truly “blown away” our state’s economy. Poor fiscal policy and flagrant incompetence have left Michigan as the nation’s leader in unemployment. In order to turn out state’s economy around, Lansing needs leaders who understand what it takes to grow an economy, and that poor government policy has consequences.

Representative Pete Lund is that leader. Since taking office, he has tirelessly opposed the irresponsible fiscal policy of our current governor. He has voted against every job killing tax increase proposed by the governor, and stands against reckless spending. Pete Lund understands the monetary sacrifices ordinary voters are making every day, and feels that government should abide by the same standards. He has voted to cut his own pay by 10%, opposed pay increases to unionized state employees, and has worked to ensure that state employee benefits do not surpass those of private sector workers.

While Gov. Granholm’s taxes, regulations, and massive bureaucracy have driven business out of Michigan, Pete Lund has the knowledge and experience to bring it back. He is a small business owner who successfully manages Direct Mailers. Pete Lund received a B.A. in Economics from Adrian College, and an M.B.A in Finance from Wayne State. Additionally, he passes on his knowledge by teaching Public Finance at Walsh College, ensuring that tomorrow’s business leaders understand what it takes to keep an economy growing.

Pete Lund stands by his record:

  • Rep. Lund fought Gov. Granholm’s plan to raise the par of unionized state workers by 3%, despite an ongoing recession.
  • Pete Lund voted to cut his own pay by 10%, and is working to reduce overly generous perks for all state employees.
  • Pete Lund stands with Michigan’s tax payers, supporting  a bill opposing President Obama’s massive healthcare plan and advocating against reckless spending.
  • Pete Lund supports cutting benefits to state employees to the same level as private sector employees.
  • Since taking office, Pete Lund has voted against EVERY tax increase proposed by Gov. Granholm.
